I've had both GERD and LPR symptoms for the last 8 years. I developed them in my early 40s, brought on by the stress of a new job I had taken on. If I take these capsules after every meal and before bedtime I can keep both my GERD and LPR under control because alginate forms a physical barrier at the LES that can block both acid and gaseous pepsin.

As someone who suffered from LPR for at least 2 years, the DR is spot on. The worst symptom I had was coughing after a meal of any size. I chew sugarless gum (no minty stuff) with sodium carbonate as an ingredient for about 30 minutes. My cough is gone. This is anecdotal, but it does work for me. My voice has never come back yet, but compared to the cough that almost drove me around the bend, it's ok.
